Fresno, CA: New ceramic store/gallery/studio "Clay Mix" on Abby Street kicks off the opening of its opening of its business with a special exhibition featuring local ceramic instructors.  The exhibition is entitled "Clay Mentors" and includes artwork by Una Mjurka of CSU Fresno, Bob Kizziar of Fresno City College, Garrett Masterson of Reedley College, and Susanne French of Merced College.  The exhibit also includes artwork by two new instructors at Clay Mix ceramic studio, Craig Easter and David Hicks.  Craig Easter is a well-know Fresno ceramic artist who has shown and sold his work regularly for over 30 years.  David Hicks holds a MFA from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.  David has been exhibiting his work nationally and internationally.  The exhibit opens at 5pm on Thursday, May 1st for Art Hop.
    The exhibit "Clay Mentors" showcases the variety of appraoch to ceramic art from each artist: conceptual, functional, sculptural, figurative, small and large.  This exhibit explores the unlimited possibilities in ceramic art, and also demonstrates that there are many resources available for learning ceramics in the Central Valley.
    Clay Mix is located at 1003 N. Abby Street, Fresno, California.  The gallery is open during regular store hours, Monday-Friday from 8:30am-6pm and Saturday from 10am-5pm.  Clay mix is closed on Sundays and holidays. Call 559.485.0065 for more information.
